Dallas, Texas Church of the Holy Communion Organ History The pipe organ was built in London, England by the Richard Brown Organ Company in the 1870s for the Stonehouse Methodist Church in Gloucestershire, England. The church later consolidated with other Methodist churches in the region, which meant the organ was no longer needed, so it was given to a visiting Methodist minister who shipped it to the United States. However, the organ was considerably damaged during shipping and it was subsequently placed into storage. In the early 1990s, The Church of the Holy Communion considered building a new organ for its sanctuary which was also built in the late 1800s, but soon discovered this Richard Brown organ would be perfect for their needs. Working with the Redman Organ Company of Fort Worth, Texas, the organ was completely rebuilt and restored in 1992 and installed in the Church's sanctuary in March, 1993. Today, this growing congregation has completed construction of a larger sanctuary, and has commissioned the construction of a new custom organ scheduled to be installed in 2008.
