Cincinnati, Ohio First English Evangelical Lutheran The instrument is the original Felgemaker. In the 1941 rebuild, a (used) Hillgreen Lane console was added (detatched) and the original Felgemaker (tube pneumatic we think) console, attached to the case, was removed. The installer did not even bother to have the Hillgreen Lane stoptabs correctly re-engraved. Organ is two-manual and pedal, 61/32. I count 24 ranks and 25 working stops, excluding chimes. Pedal: 2 ranks (but 5 stops) Open diapason 16' Bourdon 16' Lieblich 16' (soft wind from bourdon) Flute 8' (ext from bourdon) Dolce 8' (soft wind of above) Swell (12 ranks, 10 stops) Bourdon 16' Open Diapason 8' Viola 8' Stopped Diapason 8' AEoline 8' Violina 4' Flute Harmonique 4' Flageolet 2' (controlled by a blank stoptab) Dolce Cornet III Oboe 8' Great (10 ranks, 10 stops -- excluding Gemshorn & chimes) Open Diapason 16' Open Diapason 8' Doppelfloete 8' Gemshorn 8' (stoptab only -- non operative) Melodia 8' Dulciana 8' Octave 4' Flute d'Amour 4' Twelfth 2 2/3' Fifteenth 2' Trumpet 8' Chimes (19 notes, added 1926, housed in Swell) Electric key & stop action Mechanical combination action Organ occupies the NE corner of the sanctuary, a room which seats about 500. The console is detatched. It is a used console from a Hillgreen-Lane Instrument. There are two expression pedals and a crescendo pedal. The left expression pedal, labelled "Great", does nothing, as the great on this organ is exposed. The right expression pedal (center pedal of the three) controls the swell shutters by mechanical linkage. The rightward most pedal is the crescendo, which seems to operate electrically. There are three general combination pistons, which operate mechically but not very well, requiring considerable effort to activate -- and sometimes failing to engage all the stops which have been set on the piston. There is no general-cancel (!). There are the usual inter and intra manual couplers. The Great-to-Pedal 8' has a mechanical, duplicatiing toestud. The entire organ is winded from a single reservoir of awesome dimension, which was removed, releathered, and replaced in 1995, marking its centenary in service.
