NOTES (by Dr. Don P. Gibson) The Swell 16'/8' Bombarde unit was added in 2004 by Mid-States Pipe Organ (Keith Gottschall & Doug Funston) from Kansas City, Missouri assisted by church organist Dr. Don P. Gibson. The Choir 8' Krummhorn, 1-3/5' Tierce, and the Great 2' Super Octave were added 2007 by the same team. The two added reeds had been built by Reiger in Germany about 20 years earlier and installed in an existing Ohio Möller (Westwood First Presbyterian, Cincinnati, OH). The pipes were exposed, right over the heads of choristers in a room with bright acoustics. I suspect they were simply god-awful loud. That church never used those reeds and put them up for sale. We’ve got both ranks buried back in chambers under expression; they have worked out fine. (There was a 16’ Bassoon offered also, which we passed up.) The Great 2' Super Octave replaces the original 2’ Wald Flöte. The Super Octave pipes were built by Organ Supply Industries. The Bombarde sits on an old Möller chest which had already been recycled for use in the Ohio installation, except that the bottom twelve notes are on a chest I built. The Krummhorn and Tierce sit above the original Choir treble-end on a chest built by Organ Supply Industries. [Received March 1, 2009 from James R. Stettner]
