First Baptist Church Maryville, Tennessee 1970, Schantz Organ Co., Opus 957 NOTES The organ is installed in divided chambers on either side of the baptistery at the front of the room. There are no visible pipes. The Choir in on the left and the Swell is on the right. The Great and Pedal are divided on each side. The blank drawknob on the Great is intended for a III Scharf. The blank drawknobs on the Swell are intended for a 4' Cor de Nuit and 16' Basson. The blank drawknobs on the Choir are intended for an 8' Flute Celeste and an 8' Solo Trumpet. The drawknob console is in fixed position at the right edge of the chancel platform at floor level. Stops are controlled by drawknobs. The combination action is electric Hold/Set. This organ replaced a previous two-manual M.P. Möller, opus 7025, built in 1941 and relocated to this edifice when it was new. It is rumored that some previous pipework may have been incorporated into the Schantz. The stoplist appeared in the October, 1967 issue of "The Diapason", page 12. Documented May 1987, and confirmed July 30, 2007 by James R. Stettner
