Seattle, Washington Fisher Kalfus Funeral Home This organ was first built for the [original] Paramount Theatre (later, Guild 45th) in Seattle, Washington. In 1932, it was relocated to Fisher-Kalfus Funeral home in Seattle by Paul O'Neil without tonal changes. A plaque on the wall of the chamber reads: KIMBALL PIPE ORGAN Installed, JUNE, 1932 -------------------- BY -------------------- PAUL O'NEIL Pitch = A-440 - Temp. 70* In 1959, G. Harold Keefer of Vancouver, B.C. removed the original 8' Kinura and its chest, and in its place installed a used, tenor C string on a top-note-magnet chest. The pipes were from the 1911 Austin, Opus 354 at First Church of Christ, Scientist in Seattle, which he had just finished rebuilding and tonally augmenting with much new imported pipework. The chimes presently playing in the organ from the Accom 2nd T. tablet appear to have been added -- presumably by Paul O'Neil. It is 21 notes on a pneumatic action with note 1 (A 22) and note 21 (e 41) missing. These chimes alternate in color - with every other chime being chrome or bronze in color. The original Kimball chimes action is still present, and was only 5 chimes: 4 for playing the 'Westminster Chime', and the lowest chime being a "Bourdon" chime for tolling the hour.
