Notes
The organ was dedicated on june
21, 1918. It was free-standing and encased in the front, right corner of the
room. The keydesk was attached and projecting. And the facade had 15 pipes
along the left side; a short diagonal flat of 5 pipes at each front corner;
and a front flat of 25 pipes.
The preceding specification was assembled
from a variety of sources:
1) Examination of photos of the organ in the
church archives
2) Existing pipework in the home organ of Portland Resident,
Lou Paff.
3) A specification provided by William J. Bunch of Balcom and
Vaughan Pipe Organs of Seattle, WA.; and
4) Comparison with documented
examples of organs from the same period by this builder.
Some
discrepancies, however, still exist. William Bunch's spec states that the
organ has 12 ranks and 682 pipes. The dedicatory program cover says the organ
has "25 stop keys, 797 pipes, 4 Combination Pistons, and 3 Pedal
Movements." It is also not known if the Swell 8' Vox Celeste II was
actually II ranks, or if it was one rank - also drawing either the 8' Muted
Viol or 8' Orchestral Violin with it. Also uncertain is whether the Pedal 16'
Lieblich Gedeckt was a complete independent rank, an extension of the Swell 8'
Stopped Flute, or the Pedal 16' Bourdon on "soft
wind."

Notes
The existing console
shell and pedalboard were reused. The Swell 4' Holz Fl`te is the original 4' Flute d'Amour
and is the only complete old rank retained from the original Kilgen in the new
organ. The bottom 12 pipes of the Swell 8' Bordun and the 16' Bordun
extension are also retained from the original Kilgen.
The Swell
11/3' Quint Fl`te is a 12-pipe extension of the
22/3' Nasat. The Swell 2' Bordun is an extension of the 4'
Holz Fl`te. The Pedal III
Mixture is entirely derived/extended from the Pedal 8' Principal / 4'
Choral Bass / 2' Octavin unit.
